Getting Here

There are two international airports in Tuscany.  Galileo Galilei Aeroporto in Pisa (PSA) is the closest and larger of the 2 and is approximately a one hour drive to Il Rustichello.  Amerigo Vespucci Aeroporto is located in Firenze and is approximately a two hour trip to our door in the mountains.

The area is also served by rail.  Our closest station is Villafranca - Bagnone.  We use The Trainline for our travel plans.  Should you wish to travel by train, please bear in mind to leave some leeway for connections as sometimes trains may come under some delay or industrial action.

Weather

Autumn: Weather can be changeable with a chance of rain.  Rustichello is located at the summit of the Via Madonna del Monte and is a touch cooler.  Average temperatures at this time of year are are lows on 52F/11C and highs of 72F/22C.

Winter:Temperatures tend to be about 45°F (7°C) along the coast and from 38 to 42°F (3.5°C to 5.5°C) inland. While the mountains can be below freezing, snowfall rarely troubles Rustichello or Pisa.  Zum Zeri is the closest attraction for skiers in the region, perfect for a winter holiday on the slopes!

Spring:The Tuscan landscape is at its most vibrant and the weather is particularly pleasant, with temperatures around 17°C-23°C.  Bearing in mind, most vistors to Tuscany travel in the Spring and Autumn.

Summer:Days are usually hot with balmy evenings, so visitors should pack light and cool clothing. The average daily maximum is 30 C and the average daily minimum is 20 C.  Our area attracts many families during this time, populations double in the smaller hamlets.
